I know I am very delayed in getting this post up but it is better late than never. Plus, since this is about the Fall/Winter 2011 shows I figure it's ok for it to go up late. The Paris shows were by FAR my favorites. Looking back on the pictures now makes me want to wear fall clothing despite it being 90+ degrees here. I will definitely be using these pictures as inspiration for my fall wardrobe. There are also a lot of pictures in this post so instead of making it 2 posts I am going to do a page break so interested people can click through to see the rest of my pictures and reasons for choosing them. I also put some detail shots in for a couple of the shows since accessories are important as well!

Whew that's a lot of pictures. Where do I even start! I love the coats and fur collars at Andrew Gn, Dior, Isabel Marant, and John Galliano and also the leather jacket with fur collar at Paul & Joe. Fur (or faux fur) just brings a winter outfit up a notch in my opinion and it is so easy to look blah in winter that every little bit helps. There were some body conscious looks (Galliano, Elie Saab, Isabel Marant) and some fuller floatier looks (Valentino, Paul & Joe, Stella McCartney, Dior). I usually do body conscious looks in the winter to counter the amount of clothes and layers you have to wear but I would like to switch it up this year. Plus this helps with letting your spring wardrobe do double duty and layering it in the fall. Despite all the drama surrounding John Galliano and his firing from Dior both of his shows turned out beautifully. It is a shame that they will be his last for the house and under such a dark cloud.
Of course a huge staple for fall and winter are always boots. I LOVE BOOTS. Especially the ones with fringe at Isabel Marant. I don't know why I love fringe on boots so much but I don't care if it goes out of style I am still going to wear it. I had a hard time choosing looks from the Isabel Marant show because I wanted to put the entire show in I loved it so much! The lace up boots and the wedges at Yves St. Laurent were great as well. There were also some bright pops of color from Martin Grant and Dries Van Noten. I love the idea of a statement coat in a bright color since winter is so dreary. The Miu Miu dress with the gold swallows is the short version that Michelle Williams wore to the
Met Costume Institute Gala which is funny because I chose this dress out long before she wore it but loved it when I saw it on her and forgot that I had seen it before. I could go on for ever in this post because there are so many pictures but I assume people would get bored (perhaps you already are). So to sum it up floaty prints, some pops of color, boots, tailored jackets, fur, and the mix of delicate dresses with leather or tweed coats/jackets are the major things I will take away from the Paris shows to create my fall/winter 2011 wardrobe.
For some reason I really love the Paul & Joe outfit, ESPECIALLY the giant purple fur thing!
